College Recruiting

CFJ North Shore prepares its players for college with three broad sets of programming;

  1. Online player profile support through the Fire Juniors player profile partner College Fit Finder
  2. Attendance at college showcases
  3. Leadership development opportunities

College Fit Finder

College Fit Finder is a national leader in online player profiles for college soccer recruits. We offer this FREE of charge to our Premier team players at U15 and older as they are beginning the college recruitment process and will be offered college showcases throughout the soccer year.

This online platform offers players a single online location to upload their academic, athletic, and extracurricular information. Players can update their profiles at any time and can even upload highlight video. Each player profile will have a unique URL that can be shared with college coaches.

The club will distribute the team profile summaries to college coaches at college showcases.

Logins for players will be distributed in November of 2019 for the 2019-20 season.

College Nights

CFJ North Shore offers an annual College Night for its players to better understand the college recruitment process. The club will present data on college recruitment, discuss the differences and opportunities for each division, and review the recruitment process timeline.

Each year, the club invites a panel of experts, including current college coaches and players from across the NCAA and NAIA divisions, to discuss both the recruitment process and the life of a student-athlete.

This year's College Night is expected to take place on November 20th at the Evanston Ecology Center from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Leadership Development

The CFJ North Shore Leadership Program is an extension of the Chicago Fire Academy PASS Program. The PASS program that goes beyond the traditional X's and O's of coaching and towards a 'broad based holistic approach' to educating young athletes.

  • Perform: to achieve, realize, work, or attain;
  • Advise: to consult, help, counsel, or recommend;
  • Support: to frame or provide a ground fountain, base, or scaffold;
  • Serve: participants of the #cf97 grassroots to excellence programs.

PASS supports player development by offering unique personal development workshops that help players improve their intrapersonal skills and practice their personalities leadership style.

CFJNS's Leadership program follows PASS's few, some, and all methodology.

  • ALL players will have an opportunity to participate in the personal development workshop and performance workshops including discussion on personal management of sleep, hydration, and nutrition.
  • SOME players will be nominated for the captains training where players will enter into leadership cohorts meeting with the coaching staff and PASS leadership to discuss how to positively influence and impact the team's culture.
  • FEW players from our leadership cohorts will be offered our Coach- in-Training program and/or our Club Ambassador program. This will support players leadership inside and outside of the club.
